Salvatore Murana’s story begins at the town cemetery, a location with a strong symbolic meaning: there the islanders rest, who wisely and with great spirit of adaptation have perfected, preserved and handed down the agricultural practice of the alberello vine. He talks about the recognition of this agricultural practice as a UNESCO intangible heritage obtained in 2014 and then he continues his narrative journey by deepening the history of dried fruit production, and with it the history of Pantelleria, up to the Zibibbo wine.
He also talks about a mission to Mars to imagine the future.
The second part of the story resumes in “his” protected place: the plateau of Muéggen. Surrounded by his alberello vines, some of which are eighty years old, he speaks to us in detail about Zibibbo and Passito di Pantelleria.
